Canopy Lights
WHITEWAY UCL CANOPY LIGHTS — Type: Metal halide light designed for surface
mounting under a canopy. Modular design of the fixtures consists of one of three optical
assemblies and a UCB ballast kit. Multiple optics utilize the same ballast box assembly,
enabling changing optics in the field.        Optic (lens) choices: The standard offering

(UCO1)
is shown (far left) in the illustration to the left (click on the image to enlarge). The
ballast box is at top center. The lens assembly is slightly tapers, and excluding the ballast
box measures 6.12" from base to bottom of the prismatic cut pattern lens. The standard
offering also has eight adjustable reflectors. The UCO1 provides long range visability and
sparkle. Other lens choices include:

UCO2,
the prismatic cut pattern (sag glass; center) with a 6" fixture base-to-bottom of
lens measurement. This version is utilized for reduced high angle illumination.

The UCO3 (far right), with a flat, C-73 pattern, measures 6" from fixture base to the bottom
of the lens. This version provides you maximum lighting control.

Relamping from the ground is easy with Whiteway's relamping pole (p/n WWRPS10).

WHITEWAY UCL RETROFIT KITS — Type: Modular retrofit kits to change existing
lighting to UCL lighting. With the kits comes the ability to convert even existing Jet Phillips,
LCI and Cooper fixtures to the UCL system.       How it works: The retro kits include a plate
with a cutout for wiring sized to cover the hole left by the existing, removed fixture. The plate
rests between the ballast box and the canopy fixture.       In addition to the installation
advantages of a modular system, UCL fixtures can be easily removed from the under canopy
panels and re-used for a new installation when replacing your old canopy.

Light Poles
WHITEWAY LIGHT POLES — Available in lengths from 6' to 60' in assorted colors and
design, the mounting poles and arm extensions take in a number of considerations in
determining the right pole for the right application. Among factors to consider:
Steady wind velocity — Consistant wind velocity in MPH for a specific location. The spec
and information brochure (linked to the right) contains a Iso-Tach wind map showing wind
velocities for specific locations. Some locations such as mountainous areas areas that
surround the Great Lakes exhibit wind velocities higher than surrounding areas. Consult
local authorities to determine maximum wind velocities and select your pole accordingly.

Gust velocity — A momentary increase in wind that causes a whipping action. Whiteway
poles include a 1.3 gust factor over steady wind velocity. That means poles designed for
80mph winds will withstand gusts to 104mph.
Maximum weight — The maximum allowable total weight the pole is capable of supporting;
its value determined by the total weight of the lighting fixture and bracketry being used.
