Floating
suctions		            
  OPW FLOATING SUCTION ASSEMBLIES —
For applications where little or no fuel
contamination can be tolerated, floating
suction systems manufactured by OPW
Engineered Systems come into play. Size
choices are 2", 3", 4" and 6".

The floating suction assemblies can be used
in above- and belowground tanks, horizontal
or vertical. Aircraft jet fuel storage tanks
are one common application.

The theory behind the floating suction is
this: Fuel near the top of a storage tank is
least likely to contain foreign particles or
water. The floating suction draws from the
near-surface, contamination fuel.

OPW's floating suctions include:
•Permanently lubricated dual race swivel
  joints.
•Triple sealed swivel joints for submerged
  service.
•Aluminum 150 lb. flat face flanges
  (standard) with optional steel or stainless
  steel flanges.
•Suction baffle and stop lag that maintain
  a minimum intake level of 8" off the tank
  bottom (or as specified).
